Mark became NHS Digital’s interim Chief Technology Officer in November 2020, having previously worked as the Chief Enterprise Architect. He lead the Technology Policy & Architecture function which is responsible for technology leadership and architecture across the organisation. Mark originally joined the NHS in 2003 as a senior technical architect in the National Programme for IT. He has led the Demographics programme, Information Standards Board for Health & Social Care & NHSmail as well as worked as a Chief Information Officer for a large hospital and community Trust. Mark has a Master of Physics degree from the University of Birmingham and is a graduate of the Government’s Major Project Leadership Academy from Said Business School, Oxford University. He is a chartered fellow in the British Computer Society has had completed the Institute of Directors Certificate in Company Direction. Prior to joining the NHS, Mark was a management consultant with Deloitte Consulting.
